Inspiron 6000 makes a lot of noise after a few years of service. I found this amazing software that automatically switches off and on the fan depending on the temperature of the system. It works great for me!  By the way, I bought a new fan, bluetooth and memory module from Dell for my old laptop. I am expecting it to work like a charm.
